DOLPHIN Handling System
ODIM Brooke Ocean has successfully developed a handling system for DOLPHIN (Deep Ocean Logging Platform for Hydrographic and Instrumentation Navigation), a 7 meter, 3500 kg radio controlled semi-submersible. During sea trials, DOLPHIN was launched and recovered in up to sea state 4. ODIM Brooke Ocean is confident that operations could have been completed in sea state 5 had those conditions been present.
The system incorporates unique remote latching devices which permit a bow line and lifting cable to be attached to DOLPHIN without the requirement to put a man in the water. Patents are pending. This technology can be adapted for handling other ROV's and AUV's.
