Preparing a pod carousel for deploymentInitial testing of the ELSS Pod Posting System took place in early June 2000.

At-sea testing took place outside Halifax Harbour on June 12-13 and involved the Maritime Coastal Defence Vessels (MCDV) HMCS Summerside and HMCS Glace Bay, a Canadian navy submarine and a divers ship.

Submarine used for trialsPersonnel from ODIM Brooke Ocean and Hard Suits Inc. were on hand to witness the testing exercises which involved deploying the pod carousel and transferring the individual pods to the "disabled" sub on the seafloor.
