BOT PRESS RELEASE: MARCH 04, 2003UNIVERSITY OF CONNECTICUT COLLECTS SECOND DATA SET WITH SEAHORSE™ MOORED OCEAN PROFILER Brooke Ocean Technology Limited has recently delivered a SeaHorse™ Profiler to the Department of Marine Sciences at the University of Connecticut in Groton, Connecticut. ![]() ![]() Dr. Dan Codiga is a physical oceanographer at the University and has had two successful deployments with his first SeaHorse profiler. The SeaHorse was deployed from the R/V Connecticut. It collected a CTD/DO profile every 60 minutes for 7 weeks on each deployment.
Dr. Codiga has since ordered a second SeaHorse profiler, identical to the first, scheduled to ship in time for a spring deployment. “The ability to collect full vertical profiles frequently enough to resolve tidal fluctuations, and to do so unattended for up to a few months duration even in the presence of strong tidal currents, is unique.”- Dr. Dan Codiga, UConn
