ODIM BROOKE OCEAN WRAP UP 2008 WITH ODIM MVP™ AND EMNS SALES
(Dartmouth, Nova Scotia – January 09, 2009): ODIM Brooke Ocean wraps up 2008 with sales of ODIM MVP™ and EMNS systems.
ODIM Brooke Ocean has received an order for an ODIM MVP200 complete with an ODIM FFCPT (Free Fall Cone Penetrometer) from the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI, www.mil.no/felles/ffi). The FFI is the prime institution responsible for defence-related research in Norway. FFI is also the chief adviser on defence-related science and technology to the Ministry of Defence and the Norwegian Armed Forces’ military organization.
FFI will be taking delivery of the MVP200 and FFCPT in early 2009. The system will be used for real-time water column sound speed profiling as well as real-time in-situ sediment measurements for maritime defence geotechnical applications.
ODIM Brooke Ocean has also been awarded a contract from Lockheed Martin Corp. of Syracuse, New York, to build a second launch and recovery system (LARS) in support of their System Development and Demonstration Phase of the Expendable Mine Neutralization System (EMNS). The initial order for the EMNS Launch and Recovery System was acquired earlier in 2008.
The launch and recover system that ODIM Brooke Ocean will supply is designed to meet the environmental and other MIL specs as defined in the primary contract.
The EMNS is a mine identification and neutralization system for support of mine neutralization operations from MCM-1 Class ships. It will replace the aging and maintenance intensive AN/SLQ-48 Mine Neutralization System and will provide ships with improved reconnaissance capability, positive identification of mine threats, reduced neutralization mission times, and reduced maintenance in both time and required spares.
