Institute of Oceanology of Chinese Academy Science has placed an order via Laurel Technologies Company Limited for an ODIM MVP™200 with a Multi Sensor Free Fall Fish (MSFFF). Institute of Oceanology is the largest scientific organization in oceanology-related fields of scientific research and technological development in China. The ODIM MVP™200 will be used to measure the ocean front process and thermocline process in East China Sea and Yellow Sea.

The multi-sensor multi-purpose system configuration will consist of an ODIM MVP™200 with an AML micro CTD, a Wetlab ECO Flurometer and a Seapoint Turbidity sensor, all installed on the MSFFF. The system will enable the Institute of Oceanology to collect real-time vertical water column information to aid in their oceanographic research.

The ODIM MVP™200 is a self-contained, electrical “smart” winch, which collects oceanographic data using various third party sensors while the vessel is underway at speeds up to 12 knots.
