The ODIM MVP™30-350 is a light-weight electrical winch used for the collection of real-time and continuous CTD information of up to 350m while the vessel is underway. Cycle times range from two to ten minutes. The application of the ODIM MVP™ for mine countermeasures is to accurately map water column properties for input into defence acoustic detection systems. At the same time, the ODIM MVP™ can be used to calibrate the Ministry of Defence's ocean mapping multibeam sonar systems. The new ODIM MVP™30-350 is the latest of several ODIM MVP™ models presently used by the same defense agency for this particular purpose.

The ODIM MVP™ is a self-contained, semi-autonomous device, which collects oceanographic data while the vessel is underway. The sound velocity profiler system includes a computer-controlled winch and deployment system for a variety of free-fall sensor systems.
