Press Release - for immediate publication ODIM MVP™30 FOR THE CANADIAN HYDROGRAPHIC SERVICE (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia - March 29, 2010): ODIM Brooke Ocean has received an order to deliver an ODIM MVP™30 to the Canadian Hydrographic Service (CHS), Central & Arctic Region.
The Canadian Hydrographic Service (www.chs-shc.gc.ca) has placed an order for an ODIM MVP™30 system. The requirements were for the supply and delivery of a real-time underway sound speed and CTD profiling system. The Central and Arctic Region, Burlington, Ontario, will utilize the ODIM MVP™ to assist in the collection of multibeam echosounder data to produce authoritative nautical charts and publications which support a broad range of marine activities. The new ODIM MVP™30 is the latest of several ODIM MVP™ models presently used by the CHS to help reduce the Total Propagated Uncertainty of a sounding as per the IHO S-44 Specifications for hydrographic surveys.
The ODIM MVP™30 is a light weight electrical winch used for the collection of real-time and continuous sound speed profile information for ocean mapping purposes. The ODIM MVP™ is a self-contained, semi-autonomous device, which collects oceanographic data while the vessel is underway. The sound velocity profiler system includes a computer controlled winch and deployment system for a variety of free-fall sensor systems.
